NE Teacher Speaking At ECE AGM

One of the ideas we shared last year for working in a more inclusive and productive way, is inviting local NE teachers to talk to ECE parents about starting school.  Sarah Brown at Kohia Terrace School went and spoke at the Gardner Road AGM in February to parents.

Transitioning Children To School

Transitioning to School Information Discussed at Term 2 meeting Stepping Stones to School programme at  Bayfield School For children only, (encourages ECE’s to bring the child and stay). 5 week programme - children get signed in so can stay without parent. School worked with Ministry to get this organised.   (If you have a Health and Safety policy for it and the children are signed in, there are few problems). Visit different areas of the school. Great way to get to know the children before placing in class and also build relationships with ECE. Kohia Terrace School Transition programme focuses on settling families into the school, (not just the child). 3 sessions.
